The Accidental Gardener

I never realised that I could get so much joy from gardening. I was an accidental gardener in my early teens but this has since progressed to much more.

This spring 2015, I have grown different varieties of daffodils and enjoyed the array of flowers blossoming on my balcony garden. I also have primroses, pansies and hyacinths too.

I look forward to a summer of gladioli and harvest of my spring crops which has been extensive. The most fascinating vegetable so far is the dwarf runner beans. If plants had legs then, it sure has some of the finest legs in town. It grows really fast that I quickly transplanted it to a 12 inch pot and hopefully later to a vegetable grow bag.

Watch this space for the outcome of my home grown chilli, cherry tomatoes, mixed salad leaves, spinach and sunflowers..

Let this old book I found at an Oxfam charity shop inspire you to improve your knowledge of horticulture. I definitely was very moved by it.'Our Village' by Miss M.R Mitford ( A Jane Austen enthusiast).
